The Banana Van leaves Blodwell Quarry at Llansantffraid and arrives at the Weybridge site.
Earlier this month three members of the project team met with Ken Owen, the current van owner, in Llansantffraid to clear out the banana van in readiness for it to be transported to the Weighbridge site. The site is almost ready to receive it, we are just waiting for Ransfords to clear a two and a half metre strip along the east side of the building for the van to be placed on the north eastern corner to enable all round access for repairs to begin.
It is hoped to have it on site in time for the planned Easter Open Days, though not repaired quite that soon!
A number was found on the chassis which will enable further research into the history of the van. For budding researchers the number is clearly 82 then could be 846, 546, 548 or 846?
