The Onny Trail Totem

Glenburrel Bridge

As the society endeavours to preserve the memory of the long since closed railway, the opportunity to tackle something of substance is offered occasionally.
Glenburrel Bridge, now a feature of the Onny Trail was renovated by members of the society. The Platform edges at Horderley station were also restored and re built by the society.

Part of the route of the Bishop’s Castle Railway has now been opened as a very pleasant footpath along the Onny River. The railway’s course can clearly be seen, along with the Glenburrell bridge (the last remaining bridge over the railway) and the station building at Horderley, which is now a private house.
