Unseen Photographs

Two previously unseen photographs have been sent to us by William Cadwallader who now lives in Cape Town. One photo is of William`s father Ned Cadwallader (on the left), who was the last apprentice employed by the BCR, and (on the right), William`s grandfather, John (Jack) Cadwallader, the driver of Carlisle. The other photo is of Carlisle at rest in the engine shed and the photo below of No.1, William suggests is taken between Lydham and B.C. -1933. However, a knowledgeable society member thinks that it could possibly have been taken near Stretford Bridge not Lydham. Both Jack and Ned were involved with the demolition of the line.
